Product Design Manager, CAD
For the last year, I've been working at Mark43, leading and managing a team of eight product designers working on a real-time CAD (Computer-Aided Dispatch) system for 911 call-takers, law enforcement, and first responders.
Oversee the research and design of all new features on the CAD and FirstResponder mobile products for a team of eight product designers, ensuring the Double Diamond process is being followed and my team has what they need to succeed.
Lead research sessions, product walkthroughs, and customer empathy initiatives on-site at police departments throughout the US.
Conduct design workshops on-site with Mark43 users.
Create team OKRs and KPIs that align with company northstar goals.
Collaborate with product and engineering leadership to deliver on northstar goals.
Process Improvements
Shifted the team to function-focused, agile design processes. This allowed us to shift with the overall strategy to improve the utility of our CAD products and required alignment with product and engineering leadership.
Introduced new process for mobile + desktop CAD designer collaboration.

Led the planning and implementation of a new Level of Effort system for the research and design team utilizing both points and t-shirt sizing.
